Blowing Sideways

We are getting pummeled with wind and rain and even some thunderstorms this week. It's awesome - reminds me of being a child on the east coast. I grew up on a little island in New Jersey and we have the CRAZIEST thunderstorms and flooding. My mom was always super excited to bundle us up and take us on walks in the rain.

PS can you tell how much I love my rain boots?  I've been giving them their own little photo shoot. There is something super cool about brightly colored rain boots against a dreary background.

I love this Hunter ad:

In other news - my breakfasts have been extremely boring and predictable. Chia Oats, Chia Oats, Chia Oats. I am not sick of them yet but I'm afraid I may be soon so I mixed it up a bit this morning and braved the storm to grab a bagel and cream cheese at our cafe downstairs. Yum. I heart bagels so much. Lunch is undecided as of now - I guess it depends on how much I want to brave the storm. I did bring some snacky items but my fridge has been pretty bare lately so it's not that exciting. Fish tacos are calling my name...

What is your favorite stormy weather food? Mine is anything involving mashed potatoes. Thai food is always a cozy meal too!

I love those boots and would totally love some of my own, but we really don't have much bad weather to justify it - haha! In stormy weather I will make a big pot of tomato soup or white bean soup and pair it with some chunky bread!!
